The People... the group

First I will talk about my wonderful mentor, Young-Seok Choi. Has been great at teaching Kate and I about microdisks and his research. Going so far as to teach us optical physics from the ground up for the first week.
The reason for his research, his drive to study microdisks, come from a want to advance science as a whole. In optics he sees the future, not now, not in five years, maybe not even in fifth teen years, but sometime, computing will switch from electricity to a dominantly optic world, leaving electricity to just power our lights, not to do any computing at all.

Next to talk about is Kate.
Also in AR, Kate is a local girl, and helped to introduce me to half of the students in AR. We worked, joked and grumbled (about the coldness of the lab) together. Happy to have been partnered with her.

There is lots to say about everybody else in the program but I will just stick to naming off people in the above picture.

from Left to Right,
Front row: Scott, Ross
Middle row: Trisha, Kate, Katie, Han, Lourdes, Eden
Back row: Martin, Alex, Veronica, Natalie, Juliana, Joel
